Mushrooms in Big Basin [Part I]

Sunday was quite the adventure. Rodolfo and I took planned for a 7 mile hike in Big Basin Redwoods State Park and wound up hiking 15 miles. Blegh! Long story short, we missed a turn, overshot one of the trails and had to backtrack about 7 miles. It was mentally and physically draining, but well worth it. I'm laughing about it now, but I definitely was not laughing when we looked at the map and realized we were still 6 miles out from the park headquarters. I have to say, I spotted some fantastic mushrooms, and I'm quite proud of myself because I think my mushroom spotting skills are improving. We ended up hiking along Timm's Creek, so we didn't get to see the waterfalls, but we are planning to venture out to Big Basin again this Sunday with some friends, let's hope we don't end up hiking for 8 hours straight again!

Here are some of the mushrooms I spotted on this trip...I didn't finish identifying all of them just yet, but I'll add the names once I do.
Unidentified egg-yolk looking mushroom growing from a stump
Orange Jelly Fungus, AKA Witches' Butter (Tremella aurantia)
 Unidentified mushrooms
 Black trumpets or chantrelles?

Strap coral fungi?

 Another type of club/coral fungi
 Coral fungi (amaria stricta?)

Itty bitty unidentified mushrooms
 Mycena rorida?
 Jelly Bellies (Leotia lubrica)
 Earth Tongues (Trichoglossum hirsutum)
Another variety of Earth Tongues (Microglossum viride)

I spotted way more than the ones above, but I think I'll have to separate them into another post. Be sure to check out part II of this post!
